Black Metal, I know, I know, only a few of us still think that its pentagrams
and inverted crosses aren’t corny, that the movement died with Euronymous, and
that everyone that is putting corpsepaint is a fad. Well, you might think we
are nostalgics but with the recent EP of the duo of K and KK of Gjendød the spirit of the second wave
of Black Metal is still strong and interesting.
It makes me wonder how a four songs EP from a duo of Norway could be one of the best release of month of June. It is as evil as Mayhem, Burzum and Ulver earliest releases with a contemporary touch and a very good production. Despite the fact that they are the enth band to say that they are the reincarnation of the second wave, it makes us want more and wish for a LP that has the same level of energy, edge, and poisonous dissonance.
