FLEURETY - Fragmenta Cuinsvis Aetatis Contemporaneae EP Review

Fleurety - Fragmenta Cuinsvis Aetatis Contemporaneae EP (2017, Aesthetic Death)

Formed in Norway during the most prolific era of the Second Wave of Black Metal, Fleurety have their feet into the BM scene while always carrying the Avant-Garde flag just as Arcturus did. With a new EP consisting of two songs over 12 minutes, Fragmenta Cuinsvis Aetatis Contemporanaea might be longer to write than to listen.

The first song, ‘’Consensus’’ has this electronic drive of fast beat and a sampling that opens the 7’’. While the B-side of this platter, ‘’Carnal Nations’’ is an atmospheric piece that slowly gets into a simplistic keyboard and a guitar melody.

Overall, those two instrumental tracks are moody and make us wish that Fleurety will get back soon in the studio and release a new LP in the months or years to come. Coming with the promo there is a promess of a compilation consisting of all the latest EP Fleurety has released. There’s also a rumor of a new album in the works. However, I don’t expect it to be in the current year but we can still hope it to be. Until then, preorder FCAC before it goes out of stock because there will be only 666 printed.
